The is a hands on course designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to gain entry-level employment, where their CDL is a secondary requirement, such as a CDL inspector or mechanic or the skills needed to obtain/pass their commercial driver's license test. Students must: be 18 years of age (21 years is required to haul interstate commerce). have a current, valid U.S. driver???s license; per Federal Motor Carrier section 391.11, subpart B Qualifications and Disqualification of Drivers: ??Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signals in the English language, inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records; successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical prior to registering for this class; acquire their CDL Learner???s Permit (General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle AND Air Brakes) prior to registering for this class; register with the Federal Drug Testing Clearinghouse AFTER acquiring their CDL Learner???s Permit. The student will be required to sign a consent form to allow HACC to query them in the Federal Drug-Testing Clearinghouse to ensure that they have not failed or refused a drug screen; and, have successfully completed a DOT Regulated Drug Screen AFTER they have acquired their CDL Learner???s Permit.

This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to gain entry-level employment as professional drivers in the commercial trucking industry. This course is lab only!

This course is designed to give licensed commerical drivers additional "behind the wheel" time to increase their skill levels to the point where they meet the applicable standard of a specific motor carrier or company.

This course is designed for existing commercial drivers and consists of both online training modules and hands-on training in industry specific equipment. The course provides training in the fundamentals of concrete, incuding handling and transportation, as well as, hands-on training using industry specific equipment.

Prepares a driver seeking a HAZMAT endorsement on their Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (as outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Administration's Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Regulation ) Students are taught the drivers role and responsibilities regarding hauling hazardous materials and the regulations and recertification process; identify hazardous materials and how to safely load and unload shipments; properly placard their vehicle in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations; and safely transport these shipments to their destination. Students must also recognize the risk of hazardous materials being hauled, emergency situations and understand driver responsibilities to limit exposure and communicate the danger regarding the hazardous material being transported.

Prepares an individual to be ready for the General Knowledge portion of the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B permit exam. Students are taught competencies such as: Vehicle Inspection, Basic Control of your vehicle, Seeing, Managing Space, Distracted Driving, Driving Conditions, Railroad- Highway and Mountain Driving, Driving Emergencies, Accident Procedures and Fires, Alcohol, Drugs and Driving /HAZMAT, and Cargo.

Prepares an individual to sit for the Air Brake portion of the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B permit exam. This online course teaches student air brake restrictions, different systems, parts, air production, mechanics, and dual air brake systems.

Prepares an individual to take the Combination portion of Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A permit exam. This online course teaches students about endorsements, safety, air brakes, anti-lock brakes, coupling and uncoupling, and inpsection.

This course prepares individuals for the General Knowledge, Air Brake and Combination Vehicle portions of the CDL Class A Permit exam at their respective State's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) location.

This online course prepares an individual to be prepared for the General Knowledge, Air Brake portion of the CDL Class B permit exam at your respective State's Department of Motor Vehicles location.
