Addresses the issues regarding responsibilities of first responders and processors. Students are taught the evidentiary value and methods of collection of trace and firearms evidence, as well as learn the importance of proper collection of blood evidence, semen, saliva, hair, fibers, DNA, firearms, and casings. Emphasis is placed on the legal and proper procedures of collection which also includes instruction from crime lab personnel on packaging and submission of evidence.

Addresses the issues that may occur in the responsibility of first responders and processors. Students are taught how to properly document a death scene and how to prepare to testify in court for death investigation cases. Methods for determining approximate time of death, forensic evidence in a death investigation and subsequent determination of manner of death from evidence is discussed.

Covers the special considerations involved in a vehicle crash crime scene. This course reviews the special needs including measurements, photographs,evidence collection, and management of the scene . A portion of the course is dedicated to covering what Police Officers should concentrate on in Arson investigations.(not testable material for the series test). Lastly, students are taught the basics on how to recognize and collect Electronic Evidence, as well as precautions for the further forensic analysis.

Students will learn to properly manage and document crime scene including proper assessment, control, earch techniques, walkthrough technique, crime scene sketching, evidence documentation, chain of custody, and legal requirements of evidence, and hands on exercises that will involve physical evidence recognition, collection, and documentation.

Trains Security officers/police officers on practical and tactical aspects of handcuffing. This course outlines the proper application of handcuffing, handcuffing of compliant versus noncompliant offenders, wrist locks, and double locking procedures.

Provides student with the skills needed to develop knowledge of the critical nature surrounding us of force as it applies to certified agents Justification of use of force as it pertains to the protection of life and property, is covered. Students are taught the safe handling of firearms and fire a familiarization course with a 12 gauge shotgun and meet qualification standards with a handgun.

Covers all factors important to and necessary for successful training of new police officers joining a PA. Municipal Police agency.

Addresses the need for law enforcement personnel to obtain specialized training Interview and Interrogation techniques. The course covers effective interview and interrogation skills that includes identifying the differences between interview and interrogation, as well as identifying cognitive and behavior oriented techniques, spotting deception and choosing a proper setting for the interview/interrogation.

Addresses the need for officers, who have limited knowledge and experience in the collection of latent fingerprints, to receive training on the methods of lifting latents, such as powders, Ninhydrin Iodine, and silver nitrate. Cyanoacrylate and various dyes is also discussed. Other topics covered include: pattern recognition, major case printing, palm printing, cadaver printing, and electronic fingerprinting. Class time is devoted to hands-on laboratory sessions on the aforementioned procedures, where Approximately 50% of class time is allocated to experiments where officers conducting challenging latent print recoveries.

Address the need for officers to gain experience in rolling fingerprints, pattern recognition, major case printing, palm printing, cadaver printing and electronic fingerprinting. Class time is devoted to hands-on laboratory sessions, which provide practice in all the above procedures.
