Exploring Our World: Fundamentals of Geospatial Science introduces fundamental concepts of geospatial analysis and map interpretation. Technologies include geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), cartography, remote sensing, geovisualization and interpretation, Internet mapping, and spatial statistics. Explores how geospatial technologies and tools are used in data collection, analysis, presentation, and problem solving.

AutoCAD Essentials is a basic computer aided design class taught outside the College, where students bring their own laptop. Instructions on how to download educational software will be provided. The class will provide a solid foundation in drawing and editing fundamentals, drawing automation techniques, layers and dimensioning. Students acquire the necessary skills needed to produce quality production drawings.

Auto CAD 3-D provides a solid foundation in 3-D wire frame drawing and editing, 3-D toolbars, while also teaching understanding and operating proficiency of the UCS (User Coordinate System). The student will develop the skills and knowledge to create quality 3-D wire frame models.

This course is designed for civil engineers and surveyors who want to learn interactive, dynamic design functionality. Students will learn techniques enabling them to organize project data, work with points, create and analyze surfaces, model road corridors, create parcel layouts, perform grading and volume calculation tasks, and lay out pipe networks. Prerequisites: AutoCAD Fundamentals and Advanced.

Review the basic functions of Solidworks. Students will learn the fundamentals of Solidworks, the best practices for building parametric parts, and assemblies and their associated drawings. Students will also learn modeling and patterning, configurations and editing, and assemblies and detailing.

This custom class is designed to meet your organization's needs for training employees or associates in Computer Aided Design (CAD). Whether your organization requires employees to read and interpret CAD products or to develop designs independently, this course can be tailored in content to meet specific competencies necessary for your success. We are able to assist both beginners and advanced students using one or more CAD software platforms. Please contact the program coordinator today to discuss content and scheduling options.

This workshop provides a basic overview of Global Positioning Systems including how they operate, GPS terms, finding locations and navigating. Uploading and downloading data will be covered. Students will receive hands on experience using a GPS.

This course covers selected computer-aided drafting and design programs. Students create multi-view working drawings and study solids modeling techniques. AutoCAD Fundamentals or permission of the instructor.

Revit Building is a powerful parametric 3D modeling program for designing buildings. This course will enable students to create full 3-Dimensional architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. Focuses on basic tools that the majority of users will need to work with Revit. Prerequisite: AutoCAD Fundamentals and Advanced or similar experience.

This class covers the indispensable core topics for working with AutoCad Electrical (AE). Students will learn to use many of the powerful electrical drawing creation tools in AE Students will create schematic drawings, panel drawings and PLC/IO circuits using automated commands for symbol insertion, component tagging, wire numbering, and drawing modification. Methods to customize AE symbols, circuits and databases will also be covered. Other topics include title block linking, reporting tools, templates and project files. Editing commands will be used to work on projects using terminals, PLC symbols, and point to point wiring drawings.
