3 credits This course is designed for the non-mathematics related major. Students should expect to learn how to apply a variety of general mathematics skills to ordinary everyday situations. These mathematical skills pertain to problem solving techniques, sets and logic, number theory and number systems, probability and statistics, and geometric paths. Placement recommendation is based on the ASSET placement test mathematics scores. Fall.

3 credits Topics include real and complex numbers, exponents and radicals, polynomials, rational equations and inequalities, functions: Linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic, conic sections and matrices. 4 credits Trigonometric functions, identities, solutions of trigonometric equations and triangles, inverse functions, vectors, complex numbers, and polar equations will be covered. Each topic will include applied problems. Prerequisite: MATH 110. Fall.

3 credits This course is the first of two courses that many state institutions require prior to Math Methods for Elementary Teachers. Topics include problem solving, sets, functions and reasoning, whole numbers, number theory, integers and fractions, decimals, rational and irrational numbers. Fall.

3 credits This is the second course in a series for prospective elementary school teachers. Topics include statistics, probability, geometry, measurement, and motions in geometry. Students should check with their transfer institution for full requirements of classes. Prerequisite: MATH 205. Spring.

Topics include descriptive statistics, probability distributions, normal distribution, confidence intervals, t distribution, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression. MUSIC MUS 101 Elements of Music 3 credits This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of music including the basic music reading (notation), rhythm, meter, and harmony. Fall.

3 credits This course is a survey of Western art music from the beginning of the 1900's to modern day. The course will cover orchestral, operatic, country, bluegrass, swing, jazz, musicals, and the partnership between music and art. While focusing primarily on stylistic developments, the history of the performance of this music will also be addressed through reading, lecture, listening to music and video. Spring.

1 credits Designed for any woman who wants to improve her health and physical appearance, Women's Fitness will provide group exercise activities such as aerobics, cardio and interval training. Students can expect to set realistic physical fitness goals to be met by semester's end. Throughout the semester, each student will demonstrate increasing ability to perform various exercises at her individual level. Each woman will measure her final results against her original goals. This course should be taken concurrently with PER 132, Women's Weight Training. This course is Pass/Fail and may be repeated. Fall, Spring.

Each student will write a paper in which she delineates her goals for the semester. Each woman will measure her final results against her original goals.
