Students will undertake a systematic examination of the philosophical bases of the approaches to literature used in previous literature courses and will discuss the practical value of each of these approaches for literary research.

The focus will be on the production for publication of one of the following: an analysis of literary work, a creative work, or an interdisciplinary writing project, for those students with a double major.
