This course will cover advanced topics of database management systems (DBMS) topics not covered in BT170-Database Concepts. These topics include programmatic Structured Query Language (SQL), the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) standard, database administration/ management issues, database monitoring and tuning, object DBMSs and object-relational DBMSs, web technology and DBMSs, semi-structured data and XML and data warehousing concepts. The course is broad-based with the objectives of ensuring that students become knowledgeable of the current DBMS technology that is available today and are made aware of the current areas of database research. Windows Network Infrastructure will help those familiar with and those new to Windows 2000 products. This course will teach installing, configuring, managing and supporting a network infrastructure that uses the Windows 2000 Server products. This course will help the student prepare for the Microsoft Exam 70216: Implementing and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure. Prerequisite: IT 275. (Lab fee) (DD)
