Primary concerns of the course will include an analysis of a) functions of nonverbal behavior (e.g., communication, intimacy exchange, control), b) factors influencing nonverbal expression (e.g., culture, personality, relationships), and c) various theoretical views on nonverbal behavior and communication. Applications to various problems and settings in everyday life will also be pursued.
