Facility-location selection. Plant-layout development. Building, organization, communications and support system design. Material-handling equipment, flow and packaging. Automated storage and retrieval systems design. Computer aided design of manufacturing facilities. Environmental requirements and design. Utilities design. In a major project, students will be required to analyze the design of a product and plan the manufacturing facility for its production.
