Prerequisite: BIO 2414 A combined lecture and laboratory course that includes in-depth studies of the animal phyla with emphasis on the vertebrates and animal systems. Labs associated with this course contain experiments and exercises that reinforce the principles introduced in lecture. Three lecture hours and two laboratory hours per week.

Two laboratory hours per week. This laboratory course includes the dissection of a representative mammal.

Corequisite: BIO 2511 This course is designed to study the structure and function of the human body. The study begins with the study of tissues and organ systems comprising the human body, and deepens in the detailed study of the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, and special senses. Three lecture hours per week.

Prerequisite: BIO 2513, BIO 2511, or BIO 2514 This course is a continuation of the concepts of Human Anatomy and Physiology I and lab, in which the endocrine system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, reproductive system, and development are studied. The laboratory course uses selected activities to illustrate the principles taught in lecture. This laboratory course includes the dissection of a representative mammal. Three lecture hours and two laboratory hours per week.

Corequisite: BIO 2923A laboratory course devoted to lab safety and gaining hands-on experience in the areas of: microscopy, culturing techniques (pure culture, isolation, and media preparation), staining microscopy, aseptic technique, diagnostic procedures and effectiveness of antimicrobial agents. Two laboratory hours per week.

This course provides an introduction to basic word processing commands and essential skill development using the touch system on the alphabetic keyboard. Course emphasis will be on speed and accuracy when keying documents and timed writings. (3 sch: 2 hr. lecture, 2 hr. lab).

Prerequisite: Prior to enrollment in this course, students will be required to key straight-copy material at a minimum of 35 GWPM on a 5-minute timed writing, with a maximum of 1 error per minute OR successfully complete Introduction to Keyboarding (BOT 1013 OR by consent of instructor. This course focuses on improving keyboarding techniques using the touch method and on production of documents using work processing functions. (3 sch: 2 hr. lecture, 2 hr. lab).
