Music majors with an emphasis in piano will have a one hour lesson each week with a minimum of 10 hours practice weekly. Music majors with an emphasis in an instrument other than piano will be evaluated at the beginning of the semester to determine their placement in the class. Those students who are music majors with little or no piano skills may be taught in a piano class until basic skills are mastered. Those music majors with emphasis in an instrument other than piano will have a one hour lesson each week with a minimum of 7 hours practice weekly. All students taking these classes are required to complete a performance exam at the end of the semester. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. Co-requisite: MUS 1214, 1224, 2214, or 2224.
