Students will visit with film, radio, and television professionals in their work environment through travel to relevant venues. (2 hrs lec, 2 hrs lab)

This course offers a non-technical consideratio nof TV production basics, including camera operation, editing, lighting, performance, and general studio and field operations. Students will be taught both studio production and field production techniques. (3 hrs lec)

Students acquire an introduction to fundamental technical production concepts in radio, television, and motion pictures. Students learn video and audio production techniques, including handling digital video cameras; lighting; sound; basic announcing; pre-production planning; set construction; production of music, radio drama, news, sports, public affairs, and related programming; and editing and effects using non- linear computer editing systems and related software. Students will produce projects for webcasting. Prerequisite: JOUR 1100. (3 hrs lec)

Students will produce extended audio and/or video news stories and short documentaries for radio and television broadcast as well as Web distribution. Prerequisite: Successful completion of at least 30 credit hours. (3 hrs lec) Capstone Course

This course introduces students to the video editing process. The course focuses on teaching students the process of postproduction in the television and film industries. Video editing software is used to prepare students for the basic process of storytelling, introducing techniques in video, audio, graphics and effects editing. The psychological and emotional effects of editing on the overall story are discussed. (3 hrs lec)

Students acquire practical experience in Film Radio, or TV through hands-on work in a professional environment. Students will write a report of their work experience as well as having an assessment provided by their Internship supervisor. Approximately 30 hours of work is required per credit hour. (Prerequisite: FLM/R 1320 or FLM/R 1970 or RADI 1970.) (1-3 hrs lec per credit hour)
