4.00 Credits
Southern Utah University
A continuation of CHEM 4110. This semester deals with an introduction to the catabolic and anabolic processes of animal and plant metabolism. A focus will be on chemical mechanisms of enzymes, and transformations of metabolites. The regulation of the enzymes within metabolic pathways, and among metabolic networks within the organism will be discussed, emphasizing a common-theme approach. A minimum grade of "C" (2.0 or above) must be earned in this course before it can be counted in a physical science major or minor or as a prerequisite for any other course.
