This course is designed to give outdoor recreation majors and minors experience leading, teaching, and developing skills in the outdoor recreation field. The student is responsible for identifying a specific project or experience that will increase their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field; identifying learning goals and outcomes; and developing a plan to complete the project. A faculty mentor facilitates the independent project through consultation with the student and by providing appropriate resources. Students may or may not be paid for their work.
