    A method of instruction providing detailed education, training, and work-based experience, and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and placement is the responsibility of the college faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning experiences. Course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. As outlined in the learning plan, the student will apply the theory, concepts and skills involving specialized materials, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the particular occupation and the business/industry; demonstrate legal and ethical in the assessment and management of patients with cardiac emergencies. At the completion of this module, the student will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression; and implement a treatment plan for the cardiac patient.     A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of ill or injured patients in nontraditional populations. At the completion of this module, the student will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement a treatment plan for neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients, diverse patients, and chronically ill patients. Prerequisite: EMSP 1356, EMSP 2444, and EMSP 2434. Type: Tech

    A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence to safely manage the scene of an emergency. At the completion of this unit, the student will be able to safely manage medical incidents, rescue situations, hazardous materials and crime scenes. Prerequisite: EMSP 1356. Type: Tech

    A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of patients with medical emergencies. At the completion of this module, the student will be able to integrate patho-physiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement a treatment plan for the medical patient.     Non-transfer credit course for students who qualify on the basis of English placement tests. Designed to help students overcome deficiencies in basic English and to help students write clear sentences and coherent paragraphs. Required of all students who score 195 or below on the THEA English test. Prerequisite: None.

    Preparatory, non-transfer credit course for students who qualify on the basis of test scores. This course is designed to help the student raise his or her level of competency in use of language and enable him or her to write college-level compositions. This course is geared to help the student improve spelling, punctuation, sentence construction, and paragraphing and to give the student practice in writing so that he or she will be able to write effective compositions in ENGL 1301. Prerequisite: THEA writing score of 196 - 219 . [Offered fall, spring and summer semesters.]

    Study of English to improve students' ability to think objectively and to communicate effectively. Stress on clarity and effectiveness in the sentence, paragraph, and whole composition. The composition is chiefly expository, and assigned material is designed to increase students' ability to read objectively, to develop skills in critical analysis, and to improve their style.
