3 Credits This course focuses on the concepts, skills and know-how, attitudes and alternatives that are relevant for start-up and early stage entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial managers and attendant stakeholders. It is an applied course with two fundamental start-up processes: opportunity recognition and business plan development. Effective and general management practices from the perspective of the entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial managers are examined to make a substantial difference in the ultimate success or failure of the venture formation process. Prerequisites: BA 342, BA 360 (may be taken concurrently with BA 471)

1 Credit The business internship is the capstone, hands-on experience for each business major, and offers a unique opportunity for students to relate their academic education and career interests to "on-the-job" work experience in the corporate world. All business majors must complete the business internship prior to graduation. During the internship, business students will complete a business exit exam. The internship is jointly supervised by a Concordia University internship director and an on-site internship supervisor. Formal application and completion of the Business Internship Seminar is required prior to the semester of enrollment.
