Advanced harmony part writing and keyboard analysis and writing of more advanced tonal harmony including chromaticism and extended tertian structures. Introduction to 20th century compositional procedures and survey of the traditional large forms of composition. Open to all students with consent of instructor. Transfer students admitted by examination. Study of 18th and 19th century harmonic practices, advanced harmonic techniques; complex choral vocabulary; all secondary dominants; leading tone chords and altered chords. Lecture Hrs = 3, Lab Hrs = 1 Prerequisite: MUSI 1312 and READ 300 or equivalent Corequisite: MUSI 2116
