Emphasis is on the powers of state government, regulatory policies and agencies, voting characteristics, elections, political parties and issues of state and local importance. A survey of American history from discovery to the present. HIST 1301 concerns developments through Reconstruction; HIST 1302 is devoted to the period from Reconstruction to the present. Emphasis is given to the various political, cultural, economic, and social movements that have combined to produce our heritage. Prerequisite HIST 1302: HIST 1301 or permission of Instructor.

A survey of world civilization from ancient times to the present. HIST 2321 is concerned with developments from ancient times to the seventeenth century. HIST 2322 concerns world history from the seventeenth century to the present. Attention is given to social, political and cultural developments as well as economic trends. Prerequisite for HIST 2322: HIST 2321 or permission of instructor.

A non-credit course that reviews beginning arithmetic and algebraic concepts. Includes operations on integers, rational and real numbers; simplifying algebraic expressions; working with absolute values, radicals, exponents, and the concepts of ratio and proportion; solving and graphing linear equations and inequalities, and systems of equations; operations with polynomials and factoring. This class is designed for those students with little or no high school algebra. Concurrent enrollment in MATH 0106/0108 is required.

A non-credit course that offers a brief review of topics from Elementary Developmental Algebra, then extends the concepts of absolute values, radicals, exponents, solving and graphing linear equations and inequalities, and systems of equations and inequalities; operations with polynomials, special products, and factoring. This course provides a foundation for continued work with rational expressions and equations, quadratic equations and inequalities, and complex numbers. Concurrent enrollment In MATH 0106/0108 is required. Prerequisite: MATH 0306 or acceptable placement score.
