Methods of Teaching the Mildly Handicapped: Reading and Math. Three semester hours. This course will provide students with an understanding of the nature of reading and arithmetic and of the problems faced by children and adolescents with a wide array of disabling conditions. Major approaches to remediation in reading and math will be reviewed enabling students to develop diagnostic-prescriptive programs. Prerequisites: SpEd 520 or one from SpEd 547, 561, or 566.%
