This is a Level IV doctoral research tool course that provides a background and analysis of the interpretive act in all educational research. Designed to provide an indepth study of the process of conducting research in the naturalistic paradigm, the course focuses on an examination of the major methodological traditions of this approach. Also included is terminology and consideration of the distinctions between the naturalistic and rationalistic, or quantitative methods of inquiry. Prerequisites: Completion of Level I, II, and III research tool courses.%
