Three hours credit. A study of the adjustive process of the individual to his environment. Understanding of self, the social influences contributing to the development of self, and successful existence of the individual within society are investigated. Activities are planned to help the individual increase his awareness of his own abilities, skills, limitations, personality and needs, as well as those of other individuals. Three lecture hours each week.

Three hours credit. A study of the patterns and dynamics of group interactions. Topics include a psychosocial approach to group behavior, structure, types, stages, roles, leadership, and facilitation. Stages of group development will be examined. Students will participate in development of group leadership skills. Concurrent enrollment require in DAAC or PMHS 2280/2281. Prerequisites: CMSW 1313, DAAC 1311, PSYT 2331, and Instructor approval. Three lecture hours each week.

Three hours credit. A study of the principles and theories of assisting the individual in a crisis situation. Topics include coping skills to increase potential reinstatement of equilibrium to an individual's lifestyle and suicide prevention. The student will be able to summarize principles and theories of crisis intervention and utilize crisis intervention skills in a practice environment. The student will demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply verbal intervention techniques to diffuse a client's potentially dangerous and/or aggressive behavior. Prerequisite: PMHS 1301 or DAAC 1319. Three lecture hours each week.

Three hours credit. The study of the theories and processes involved in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. The student will specify abnormal behavior and its modification; discuss the multiaxial system of diagnosis from the universal diagnostic classifications codes, and determine the correct diagnosis given a vignette. Prerequisite: DAAC 1319 or PMHS 1301. Three lecture hours each week.

Two hours credit. An overview of the historical development of radiography, basic radiation protection, an introduction to medical terminology, ethical and legal issues for health care professionals, and an orientation to the program and the health care system. Thirty-two classroom hours. Prerequisites: RADR 1202 and 1203. Program acceptance required. Lab fee.

Two hours credit. Scientific process of radiographic image evaluation. Thirty-two classroom hours. Corequisite: RADR 1203. Lab fee.

Two hours credit. An introduction in patient assessment, infection control procedures, emergency and safety procedures, communications, and patient interactions skills, and basic pharmacology. Thirty-two classroom hours. Co-requisite: RADR 1202. Lab fee.

Two hours credit. A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. One hundred and fourteen clinical hours. Prerequisites: RADR 1202 and 1203. Lab fee. Program acceptance required.
