Four hours credit. Electricity, magnetism, optics, light, electromagnetic radiation. Three lecture and two lab hours each week. Prerequisite: PHYS 2425. Lab fee.

Two hours credit. Career related activities in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid learning plan. The student will master the theory, concepts, and skills involving the tools, materials, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, and legal systems associated with the particular occupation and the business/industry; demonstrate ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, communicating in the applicable technical language of the occupation and the business or industry. Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment in PMHS 1301. One lecture hour and ninety contact hours.

3.00 Credits
Three hours credit. A brief survey of the historical development of social services. Emphasis is on current needs, practices, and projected changes. Topics include psychoanalytic theories related to mental retardation, psychotherapy and retarded children, and special problems faced by the mentally retarded. The student will describe the historical development of social services in America; identify current social service needs and practices; list and defend at least four projected changes in the current social service system; describe mental retardation in psychoanalytical terms; and identify and describe solutions to the major problems facing the mentally retarded client. Three lecture hours each week.

Three hours credit. In-depth coverage of desktop publishing terminology, text editing, and use of design principles. Emphasis on layout techniques, graphics, multiple page displays, and business applications. Prerequisite: ITSW 1301. Three lecture hours each week plus one hour of lab exercises. Lab fee.
