Emphasis is placed on drawing setup; creating and modifying geometry; storing and retrieving predefined shapes; placing, rotating, and scaling objects, adding text and dimensions, using layers, and coordinating systems; as well as input and output devices. The student will comprehend the use of CAD hardware and software to create, display, and plot working drawings. The student will demonstrate the proper use of equipment; operate and adjust input and output devices; start and exit a software program; demonstrate file management techniques; perform drawing setup; construct geometric figures and text; utilize editing commands; control coordinates and scales; use layering techniques; and use associate dimensioning, plotting and printing.     Three hours credit. Practical general training and experiences in the workplace. The college with the employer develops and documents an individualized plan for the student. The plan relates the workplace training and experiences to the student's general and technical course of study. The guided external experiences may be for pay or no pay. This course may be repeated if topics and outcomes vary. As outlined in the learning plan, the student will master the theory, concepts, and skills involving the tools, materials, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, and legal systems associated with the workplace; demonstrate ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, appropriate verbal and written communications in the workplace. One lecture hour and sixteen hours at the workplace each week. Prerequisite: Thirty-four hours of drafting courses.

The student will define terms; determine interference and clearances; specify types of thread forms; interpret thread notes; and draw spur, bevel, and cam profile.
