Student passed only upon successful completions the public senior recital. Prerequisite: completion of applied courses and permission of major applied instructor and department Head. Required of all Music Education and Music-Liberal Arts majors. The courses in Commercial Music are designed for serious students of songwriting to learn with and from each other the techniques of melodic composition and harmonic structure, along with writing lyrics within standard and atypical song forms.
