Welcome to Computers for ESL Students takes students with at least a low-intermediate ESL reading proficiency (as defined by CASAS Skill Level Descriptors for ESL) through the basics of effectively using a computer to perform basic tasks. In this course, students will be introduced to beginning level skills and using computers that run the Windows operating system. Topics covered include common computer-oriented vocabulary; basic computer hardware; using the keyboard and mouse; creating, opening, editing, and printing word processor documents; searching the Web; sending and receiving email; and more.
