This course is a study of clinical hematology with emphasis on the complete blood count and peripheral blood differential and the basic anatomy and physiology of the kidney, including principles of homeostasis, cell maturation, anemia, leukemias and other blood dyscrasias, making and staining blood smears, various routine test procedures, quality control, anatomy and physiology relative to hematopoiesis and cellular metabolism, and a study of the physiochemical and chemical properties of urine and the microscopic examination of urinary sediment.
