Students must complete at least 160 contact hours during the semester. Students are required to complete documentation requirements and attend two formal meetings during the course of the internship. A major written project relating to the internship experience is required.

Prerequisite: Proficient with programming in at least one language (C/C++/Java) is required. Refer course syllabus for additional requirements. Practical and Professional Issues in Computer Science, Design of Algorithms, Foundations of Computer Science.; Description: The course teaches students various stages of software development. Topics include software systems analysis, software requirements analysis, modeling tools and methods for analysis and design, development of a software requirements specification document, software design guidelines and heuristics, software testing and debugging, and the development of a software design and testing document.

Prerequisite: MATH 1910 and permission of instructor; Description: Introduction to C++ syntax and programming, data types, control structures, functions, file structures, single- and multi-dimensional arrays and applications, pointers, dynamic memory allocation, classes and methods, data strucutres such as linked lists, stacks, queues, and binary trees, and use of the Standard Template Library.

Prerequisite: CSCI 2010 or 2070 or permission of instructor; Description: An introduction to application development for small, mobile devices such as cell phones and smart phones. The class will examine topics including user interface design, application portability, web protocols, data storage, and security on platforms such as Android and iPhone. Apps will be implemented using java on Google's Android OS.

Prerequisite: CIS 113; A prior course covering computer-literacy topis (use of MS-windows, use of an MS-Office application such as Word, Excel or Front Page) to ensure the student can focus on learning the database topics without being distracted by also having to learn the Microsoft interface paradigm.; Description: This course will give the student a basic overview of Relational Database Systems and Relational Database Design. The student will acquire a working knowledge of Microsoft ACCESS and the ISO standard SQL language. Students will work individually on a series of small projects, and one larger project encompassing all phases of database design and implementation.
