MUSC A137: Group Piano Music Majors I

(Prereq: declared major in music or permission of the instructor) The Group Piano for Music Majors sequence develops practical keyboard skills needed for a career in the field of music. Functional keyboard skills such as scales, arpeggios, chord progressions, harmonization, transposition, sight reading, score reading, accompanying, and performance of keyboard literature will be developed to give students the necessary tools to be successful for the keyboard proficiency degree requirement and in their chosen profession. This course introduces fundamental skills needed for further technical and musical growth. Students may opt to test out of this course and be placed into either MUSC A138 or MUSC A237 with permission of the instructor.
