This course introduces the sport management profession and its academic field. The primary focus is on the sport business industry, including professional sport, amateur and community sport, for-profit and non-profit sport participation, sporting goods, and services. It studies the orientation of the sport management field with emphasis on principles and practice of sport, as well as a founda- tional introuction to training, careers, and opportunities in the professional of sport manager.

Sport and society is a course that provides students a close examination of the relationship between sport and society. This course introduces the prin- ciples and applications of sport from a sociological perspective, grounded in the powerful culture of the sport globally, the diversity and inclusion of sport organizations at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels. Assessment on the intersection of ethics and values will be explored across social class and sport, race and sport, gender and sport, media and sport, natural environment and sport, violence, and sport, globalization, and sport.

This course introduces the contemporary governance structures and political schemes in sport. Focusing on the decision-making processes of sport organizations, students will learn to analyze studies in sport cases to debate current issues in the sport world, and to argue their opinion with the use of evidence and develop policies for optimizing the direction of the sport in the modern society.

This course focuses upon the development of skills essential for sport communication professionals, including writing and public speaking, interviewing, monitoring interactions across social media, public and community relations, technology, crises, and integrating strategic communication schemes in sport organizations.

This course introduces students to the principles and practice of planning, designing, operating, and assessing sport facilities. It emphasizes the organizational theories, including risk management, liability, legal and ethical implications, personnel, and environmental resources management. Also, the course examines the contemporary issues related to the construction and operations of indoor stadiums and arenas, athletic field complexes, risk and safety systems that protect visitors, spectators, athletes, staff, and the sport facility.
