This workshop discusses the role of unions from their inception to present day. Topics include the health and safety issues which spurred the formation of unions in the late 1800's; impact of work hours, wages and safety; the enactment of the National Labor Relations Act (Wagner Act), and the challenges supervisors and managers face as labor relations issues are addressed.
