The Structured Practicum is an opportunity for candidates to participate in the public school at the beginning weeks of the school year. Candidates will shadow a cooperating teacher for this time period and engage in all activities of a classroom teacher including inservice, classroom preparation, and initial teaching experience. The seminar held in conjunction with this field experience will provide a focus for discussion of issues related to the experience, and to current and foundational issues in American education.
