    This course is designed to enable the student to create advanced computer generated geometry and solve advanced design problems using established problem solving techniques. Topics covered in this course are critical thinking skills, problem solving, design concepts, and solution enhancement.     This course is designed to enable the student to define terms used in engineering drafting, understand basic casting methods, identify metal from castings, describe basic machining operations, develop machining drawings of shapes produced by milling, turning, shaping, and grinding, identify common machined shapes, correctly dimension all drawings, correctly match pins and keys with mating parts, understand basic boring and drilling operations, properly display tolerancing to drawing, demonstrate graphically proper positions of limits, access maximum material conditions, draw all symbols used in tolerancing, develop drawings of forged, powder metal and stamped parts, produce fabrication drawings of welded joints, fused and pressure welds, produce welding drawings, and identify screw threads and fasteners.     This course is designed to enable the student to define terms used in documentation control, engineering change orders and control, engineering work authorizations, product structure, product variations and families of products, documentation dependence, relation between casting and machining datum's and target points; understand basic casting methods, describe basic machining methods, correctly refer to and match all drawings, properly transfer location and tolerancing information from casting to machining drawings.     This course is designed to enable the student to identify traditional and contemporary styles of architecture; identify architectural styles of lettering, tools, and material; identify and utilize components and symbols on a plot plans; develop residential sketches; identify types of framing systems, framing members, cornices, sizes of floor joist, roof rafters, wood girders, steel beams and headers; arrange working drawings; identify plan, elevation symbols of doors and windows; sketch and draw floor plans and elevations; utilize dimensioning; identify footing systems, methods of waterproofing, methods of maintaining structural integrity; identify and draw stairways, fireplaces with details; construct plumbing drawings; perform heating ventilation and air conditioning ( HVAC ) calculations and draw HVAC plan; identify and construct electrical installations; and develop presentation drawings.     This course introduces students to the concept of total customer service applying it to all areas of business from customer interactions and relationships to the actual sales process. In the increasingly competitive marketplace in which organizations operate, it becomes imperative for these organizations to find ways to rise above the competition. Providing superior customer service is one way for organizations to differentiate their products or services from those of their competitors. Students will be utilizing American Management Association curriculum and, upon successful completion, will obtain an AMA certification in Customer Service Satisfaction. Offered at GCTC and WWTC

    This course familiarizes students with various fields of law and the proper preparation of legal documents utilized in each field, providing them with the essential tools to perform effectively in the legal office environment. Focus includes the role of word processing in the law office in the preparation of pleadings and other court papers used in every phase of a civil matter thereby increasing productivity when working with different areas of law.     WordPerfect is the standard used in most law offices today. This course allows the student to develop professional word processing documents using WordPerfect. In addition to the basic skills required to create and revise documents, students will develop more advanced skills using tables, forms, templates, styles, graphics, images, and merge.     This introductory course is designed to prepare students to identify the physical, intellectual and social/emotional development of children from conception through adolescence. The students will recognize major theories of human development as they apply to children, birth through adolescence. The students will apply knowledge of how children develop and learn to support the diversity of children and their families. This course satisfies the CDA Competency #6.
  • 3.00 Credits

    This is an introductory course that focuses on the foundations of early childhood education from infancy through the early primary years. Developmentally appropriate practice, multicultural issues and special needs children are included. This course satisfies the CDA Competencies #2, #3, #4, and #5. It is recommended that Child Development majors complete this course before CD 1103
