Introduction to E-Commerce and the internet is the foundational study of E-Business and the internet infrastructures. Concentration will be given on the study of how E-Commerce is redefining the business functions, communications, and delivery of information through the internet. Students will learn the terminology used on the internet systems and networks supporting electronic communications. Topics include: History of the internet and E-Commerce, internet systems and networks, internet search tools and skills, E-Commerce infrastructures, E-Business environment and security, Web models, Intra-Business, and the current trends of E-Business and society. This course is designed to give the student the skills needed to build and maintain a web page on an existing server. The course focuses on development of a web page in HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and enhancements to that page using Java applets and JavaScript. The purpose of this class is to introduce students to various development structures and tools for web sites. Students will gain an understanding of the importance in web site develop19 ment applying both "hands-on" and conceptual methods. This course offers the introduction to WYSIWYG's and text HTML editors utilizing Dreamweaver as the WYSIWYG of choice. A final project is required. The purpose of this class is to introduce students to selected programming languages used to assist in the development of web sites. Students will gain an understanding of the importance in web site development applying both "hands-on programming language methods and skills. This course offers the student introductory skills to a specific web programming language (i.e. ASP, PHP, PERL, XML, etc.) utilizing a final project to assess student skills. The language to be covered may vary by semester. Lab fee $7.00. Prerequisite: WEB 1153 or concurrent enrollment in WEB 1153.

This course consists of a supervised on-the-job training experience in an appropriate business, industry, government agency, or institution. Approved internships will meet a part of the program requirements for the Associate in Applied Science degree. The class may be repeated for up to three hours of credit. Lab fee $7.00. Prerequisite(s): Approval of Division Dean and employer.

Web Site Construction offers students the conceptual and applicable skills in web site layout, web content integration, internet security basics, and a fundamental understanding of web administration operations. Students will take a hands-on approach in the layout and design of a web site integrating analysis, infrastructure evaluation, and basic security functions. This course assists students in preparing for the Certified Professional Webmaster exam, Certified Administrator exam, and the E-Commerce Marketing Manager exam offered through the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW). [Fa (DL)] Prerequisite: CIT 1073 (or permission of instructor) and WEB 1153 (or can be taken concurrently).

This course covers client/server concepts, issues of self-hosting vs. outsourcing, and other content relevant to web server administration. This course helps the student prepare for the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) Certified Apprentice exams. Web Project Management will help the student identify client goals and contractor goals both as a team and individually. This course is designed to assist students with an understanding of project management as it relates to various industries in a "real-world" application. Web Project Management provides information about online business team management, the four types of project tasks, and the project life cycle. Students will be working on a project as a team. This course helps prepare the student for the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) Certified Apprentice exams. Prerequisites: WEB 1073 and WEB 2213 or concurrent enrollment, or permission of the professor. Lab fee $7.00. [Sp (pm)]
