The course is designed as a seminar in which the candidates will read original papers in the discipline and learn to review the literature critically. Based on readings, candidates will make presentations to their peers, formulating novel ways of organizing the information so as to convey concepts crucial for understanding. Candidate teams will design challenging and relevant classroom experiments appropriate for the secondary education environment. By the end of the semester the candidates will have designed presentations and experiments, and have demonstrated the same to their peers. Artifacts created during this course can become part of the candidates' culminating experience. Prerequisites: BS Degree and Graduate standing.
