This course focuses on the Assessment and Evaluation of ESE students. The screening process, eligibility determination criteria, and methods of diagnosis will be reviewed. Various types of assessment instruments common to Exceptional Student Education will be identified. Additionally, the learner will become cognizant of the basics of tests and measurement, as well as acquire a basic understanding of basic statistical/data interpretation. Specifically the learner will understand testing instruments such as the WISC-III, WRAT, HTP, Bender Gestalt, Woodcock and Key Math. Knowledge gleaned from diagnostic and prescriptive assessments will guide the learner to write an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Learner will use test results to guide data driven instruction.
