Continuation of Digital Photo 1. Advanced digital photography techniques addressed and a higher level of technical and aesthetic skills further developed. Skills in concept development, composition, color management and digital output further refined.

This course provides an advanced level of investigation into studio setup and lighting. Emphasis will be placed lighting of portrait, small product and large interior photography. Small format film and digital cameras will be used. Students' level of technical and aesthetic skills will be further developed.

This course focuses on the many portrait options a photographer faces such as formal and informal, family, HS seniors, and events such as wedding. The class covers studio and location work, composition and posing, complex lighting schemes, equipment options, shooting techniques and the procedures and details on what and when to shoot. This course will address one of the key challenges in photographing Seniors - drawing out and capturing their diverse, and often elusive, moods. Learn the principles of photographing special events and the key clients, receptions, and ceremonies. Learn how to digitally retouch and present images to your clients after the shoot. Student must provide their own digital SLR.

Introduction to the principles and theories of visual storytelling, using photography, video, visual design, and audio as a communication tool. Study of and practice in covering news. Exposure to law, ethics, career material and research as it applies to publishing visual materials. Use of social media tools will also be covered. Student work will be used for the Owens Outlook student newspaper.

A forum for creative expression in the design of a completed portfolio of work for admission into a bachelors program or for presentation to exhibitions or galleries. Exercises draw on knowledge of the applications learned in previous classes. Emphasizes integrating the finished piece with critical examination of photography.

Studies physics and chemistry including matter and energy, force and motion, heat and thermodynamics, waves and optics, electricity and magnetism and an introduction to inorganic chemistry. Technical applications are emphasized and a weekly laboratory session supplements the lectures. Students retaking this course must repeat both the lab and lecture. Can fulfill science elective.

Discusses the laws and principles of mechanics, electromagnetism, elementary thermodynamics, propagation, reflection & refraction of light and sound.
