    This course focuses on the use of personal, empirical, ethical and aesthetic patterns of knowing from nursing and related disciplines in the care of the family. Effective communication and critical thinking skills are used when responding to nursing situations. Clinical laboratory experiences are planned to provide the student the opportunity to use caring concepts in the delivery of care to the family. Prerequisite:    NRP 102 Corequisite:    PSY 101

    This course focuses on the fundamentals of nursing, development of medical terminology and nursing skills. The concepts of health, client attributes, healthcare settings, professional nursing and the components of the Nursing Process are discussed as it applies to the role of the practical nurse. College laboratory and clinical experiences are planned to provide opportunities for the student to apply these concepts to healthcare situations.

    This course focuses on concepts of patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, communication, collaboration, and management of the adult medical/surgical patient. The student will utilize critical thinking to promote, restore and maintain health of clients with commonly occurring health problems. Clinical laboratory experience is utilized to promote student learning of caring concepts in nursing situations. Prerequisite:    FNH 126 and BIO 211 Corequisite:    BIO 212 and ENG 111 or ENG 111

    This course focuses on health and illness across the lifespan. The concepts of patient centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement and safety in the delivery of care to the maternal and child population will be applied throughout the course. College laboratory and clinical experiences are planned to provide opportunities for the student to apply these concepts to healthcare situations. Prerequisite:    and ENG 111 or ENG 111 Corequisite:    PSY 101 and NRP 123

    The course focuses on the clinical application of practical nursing concepts, profession of nursing, and the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills. The concepts of professional nursing licensure, roles, and responsibilities are discussed as it applies to the role of the practical nurse. College laboratory and clinical experiences are planned to enhance the students transition to the role of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Prerequisite:    NRP 121 and BIO 212 and ENG 111 or ENG 111 Corequisite:    PSY 101 and NRP 122

College and clinical laboratory experiences are planned to provide opportunities for the student to integrate these concepts while providing care in a variety of healthcare and community settings.     This course emphasizes concepts which are basic to role transition from licensed practical nurse to registered nurse by focusing on health and illness across the lifespan. The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) concepts of patient centered care, evidenced based practice, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety, and informatics are introduced and applied. The course will provide opportunities for students to develop clinical judgment through experiences in the classroom, clinical, skills/simulation settings. Corequisite:    BIO 211 and IST 100 and PSY 101

The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) concepts of patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety and informatics are reinforced. College laboratory and clinical laboratory experiences are planned to provide opportunities for the student to analyze and apply these concepts to situations within a healthcare environment. Prerequisite:    NUR 102 or NUR 110 Corequisite:    ENG 111 or ENG 111

    The course focuses on complex health and illness concepts, with emphasis on professional nursing and health care. The Quality and Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN) concepts of patient centered care, evidence-based practice, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety and informatics are further developed. College and clinical laboratory experiences are planned to provide advanced situations for students to explore and utilize deep clinical knowledge to make appropriate clinical judgments. Prerequisite:    NUR 201 Corequisite:    PHL 102 and MTH 213 and NUR 203
