The processes studied consist of Offset Lithography, Gravure, Letterpress, Flexography, Thermography, Screenprinting, and Electronic Digital Printing. (5 contact hours: 2 lecture, 3 lab)

Prerequisite: ARTS 1130, ARTS 1140, GRDS 1020 This specialized course uses traditional (non-computer) methods to create illustrations aimed at specific target markets for use in newspapers, magazines, and other printed materials. It includes consumer-related, editorial, technical, and product illustration. (6 contact hours: 6 lab)

The course covers legal issues in packaging and includes projects in re-designing existing graphics and designing new products and original packaging. (6 contact hours: 6 lab)

Students will write, design, and produce ads for newspapers, magazines, and other printed materials. (6 contact hours: 6 lab)

Prerequisite: GRDS 2230 This is an advanced course in designing advertising for businesses, using the methods and principles acquired in the prerequisite courses. Students will research, write, and design a complete corporate identity program for a local company, including advertisements, brochures, billboards, annual reports, and television commercials.
