This course provides supervision and credit for advanced students acting in the leadership position of mix engineer on a sound production team for a CCM mainstage production.

This course provides supervision/mentoring and weekly round-table discussions of the design process for OMDA production designers and assistant designers. Required for sound majors, the course will focus on the actual realization of designs. Successful completion of this course requires attendance at all production meetings, effective communication with the design/production team, production of an effective, fully realized show design and proper documentation. Enrollment is coordinated with production assignments. (repeat for credit)

Intended for Sound Design students and other non-musicians with a limited background in music, the class will explore the field of music composition. Focus will be on the work of the composer, song forms, vocabulary and the skills necessary to communicate effectively with composers and directors.

The stage management capstone project is defined as engagement as a stage manager, assistant stage manager, or stage management intern on a realized theatrical production, preferably drama, musical, opera, or dance. Production assignment will occur in the student's final year and may be with a CCM production, or a non-CCM internship.

The capstone for the Technical Director will integrate coursework, knowledge, skills and experiential learning to enable the student to demonstrate in writing and in other forms of documentation a broad mastery of learning across the curriculum for a promise of initial employability and further career advancement. The capstone is to be a culminating educational experience for the undergraduate student. This class provides for learning, but not in the traditional sense, as no new skills are taught. The capstone is a self-directed, integrated, learning opportunity. The course is the singular opportunity to present one final time to fellow students and the faculty the students assimilated conservatory education. The final presentation will include a resume and portfolio presentation alone with the presentation of Capstone Project.

Theatre Design and Production students are assigned to Studio and Mainstage production responsibilities, as appropriate to their area of study and class rank. Graduate projects are more sophisticated in scale and scope than those assigned to undergraduate students. Students work under faculty supervision. Course may be repeated for credit.

This course provides an opportunity for theatre design and production students to work in a professional setting (regional theatre, opera house, touring production, dance company, entertainment production facility, media outlet, etc.) for variable credit and for differing lengths of time. The experience will vary depending on abilities of the candidate and length of involvement and must be supervised by a member of the faculty. Permission of instructor is required.
