Students in this course will participate in and supervise construction, painting, and decoration of stage properties and accompanying set dressing for theatrical productions. Students will work from scaled drawings and/or research. In addition to show assignment (Lab Component) students will meet for lecture and seminar discussions on topics such as production issues, prop management, and artisan-ship.

In addition to production assignment (Lab Component) students will meet for lecture, seminar discussions, and student presentations on advanced topics in props such as prop needs of other performing art forms, tour/film prop documentation, and the transition from theater to film/television as a prop master.

This course will continue to demonstrate an understanding of history through the trends in the appearance of women and men, primarily focusing on hair, hair adornment, makeup and facial hair. This course will show differences in classes of people as it relates to personal appearance and enable the student to recognize social positions and professions. Through this course the student will be able to show an informed historical perspective. The primary focus of this course is the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries. In addition, the first half of the 20th Century will be touched upon, and a brief overview of the second half of the 20th Century.

A beginning course in the construction and application of a three-dimensional prosthetic for the face for theatrical purposes. The students will participate in the taking of a face cast as well as having an impression of their own face cast in cement. The class will consist of sculpting in clay and making a one part mold. The course will conclude with the application of a two-part cold foam prosthetic piece and makeup.
