OCC 4404: OT Process Adulthood Through Aging hrs

This course focuses on evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, intervention, documentation, and discharge planning for adults through the life span. Critical thinking and clinical reasoning will be applied to a variety of cases. An emphasis is placed on communicating with culturally diverse patients and their families or caregivers. Prerequisites: OCC 3302, OCC 3501, OCC 3502.

This is a 12-week, full-time clinical experience. The purpose of fieldwork is to integrate course work with clinical practice to develop entry-level professional skills. This clinical experience will take place in a clinic/hospital/community setting under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Students must be prepared to relocate, possibly out of state, during their Level II fieldwork/clinical experience. Students are required to complete 24 weeks of full-time clinical experience. All Level II Fieldwork must be completed within 24 months following completion of course work.

Requirement: A doctor's statement indicating the reason the student is unable to participate in regular physical education classes and determination by department chair that student cannot participate safely in an existing course.
