Business Co-op offers students an opportunity to prepare for their chosen careers by combining academic theory and actual work experience. Generally, the work experience is to be full-time paid work for approximately 15 weeks. The cooperative education staff, the employer's supervisor, the student and the director of co-ops of the Department of Business must agree on the employment terms and the learning experience to be gained. The academic grade is the responsibility of the director of co-ops of the Department of Business with due consideration given to the report of the employer's supervision of the student. The student may enroll in this course in two non-consecutive semesters for a total of 12 credit hours. Prerequisites: Approval of the director of the co-op of the School of Business and Economics and the staff of cooperative education of WSSU and senior standing.

Students engage in supervised experiences in business, industry or government. Interns are evaluated by the employersupervisor and by the university director. Student-written critiques of their experiences are required. The final responsibility for academic grading rests with the university director. The number of credit hours earned depends upon the nature of the learning experience and the amount of time spent on the job. Prerequisites: senior standing and approval of the director of interns of the School of Business and Economics.
