CQS 111: Computer Tools For Management

Study of computer productivity tools in a business context. Emphasis on establishing fluency in current microcomputer tools, especially in advanced Excel techniques for modeling of business problems, a conceptual foundation for developing fluency in future tools, and an understanding of the proper organizational problem domains of each type of computer tool. Each student builds a practical foundation in basic computing knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use computer-based productivity tools. In addition, the course serves as a general introduction to business and to the School of Management and its programs. Credit toward degree may not be earned for both CQS 111 and CS 105.
