    3 semester hours Introduction to the fundamental principles of statistics, including the ability to describe a data set and interpret what the description of the sample says about the population as a whole. An examination of the relationship between probability, chance events and statistical tools will lead to an appreciation of the importance of statistics, both in research and in the real world.
