Students will create, edit, format, save, and print sl ides using various methods. To add visual appeal, animation, WordArt, clip art, images, charts, tables, and graphs will be included. Students will import/export to other MS applications; link and embed objects from other applications; and create web pages from presentations. Meets business elective requirements for business students.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours This course provides a business perspective on the strategies, issues, and technologies used for conducting business online. The topics included are examination of various business models and the effect e-commerce has had on the service sector; e-commerce infrastructure, the Internet, and the web; effective website planning, design, evaluation, and implementation; web marketing including consumer research, market segmentation, pricing, and promotion; online payment systems; security and encryption issues; privacy, legal, and ethical concerns; global e-commerce considerations; and m-commerce. Students will learn how to write a business plan to launch an online business. Meets business elective requirements for business students.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Ethics in business is an interdisciplinary course that integrates the philosophical and moral aspects of decision making in the business environment. The main objectives of the course are to expose students to the moral issues that arise in various business contexts; acquaint them with classical and contemporary philosophies; and introduce them to a paradigm that incorporates philosophy and business as contiguous to the natural reasoning and analytical process.

    3 Credits Prerequisite: permission of the Discipline Coordinator Students are placed with a local business appropriate to their career goals and interests for a specified training program. It is expected that the student will spend at least 135 hours at the internship site. Varied assignments in the specific industry setting provide work experience and hands-on training under the combined supervision of a member of the industry and a college faculty member. Fulfills business elective for all AAS or AS business degree programs. This is a required elective for all MgD students.

    4 Credits, 4 Hours An introduction to two-dimensional computer drafting using the AutoCAD 2000. The course covers the basic drawing and editing commands and serves as a prerequisite for more advanced CAD courses. Topics covered include drawing setup, prototype drawings, 2D drawing and editing commands, layers, scale, units, text, model and paper space. Also included are multiple viewport creation and manipulation, dimensioning and dimension variables and blocks and their use as library parts. A prerequisite for the AutoCAD 3-D course.

    4 Credits, 4 Hours Prerequisite: CAD 105 An introduction to the use of the computer for architectural drafting. Topics include drawing of walls, windows, doors, furniture symbols, 3-D views, perspective views, elevations and sections.

    4 Credits, 4 Hours Prerequisite: CAD 105 An introduction to computer-assisted landscape drafting using AutoCAD Architectural Desktop. Topics include selection and insertion of plant symbols in plan view and 3-D, parking lot design, fences, hedges, walkway and patio design, contours.
