The issues of normality and abnormality, a historical survey of abnormal psychology, causative factors and personality theories concerning abnormal behavior will be discussed. An in-depth study of the anxiety, somatoform and dissociative disorders, the psychosis, personality and addictive disorders including their etiology, dynamics and diagnostic classifications will be conducted.

Students are challenged to expand their knowledge of psychological disorders and use the DSM IV as a basic resource for reference to assess abnormal human behavior as dramatized in film.

The implications of their ideas for international, intercultural, inter-religious conflict and cooperation in the present and future are explored and experienced through discussion, dialogue and socio-drama.

It is expected that the student will spend at least 135 hours at the internship site. Varied assignments in the specific professional setting provide work experience and training under the combined supervision of a member of the professional organization and a College faculty member. This course may be used to satisfy one of the electives required for an AAS or AS liberal arts degree.

    4 Credits, 4 Hours The objectives of the first semester of a one-year Russian language course include developing skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, while increasing the active and passive vocabulary.
