    3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: OCC 204 and OCC 205 This course is to be taken in the last semester of Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum courses when all occupational therapy courses are close to completed and occupational therapy fieldwork is about to begin. It will be taught as a synthesis of occupational therapy theory and principles. It will include: management, supervision, leadership, team building, ethics, standards of practice, budget, finance, quality assurance, clinical reasoning and documentation. Students are required to complete twenty hours of non traditional fieldwork/ service learning. Other professional activities outside of class time are also required.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: OCC 101, OCC 105, PSY 103, PSY191, PSY 214 or PSY 222, SPE201 and BIO 110, Pre- or co-requisite: OCC 107 and PDA 101 A study of the appl ication of occupational therapy procedures used by the certified occupational therapy assistant in the area of mental health.

    4Credits, 4 hours Prerequisite: OFT 112 Recommended: OFT 108 Introduction of skills to prepare students for office positions. This course will give students a perspective of the role of support professionals and recognition of technological developments that have affected the office role. Topics include records management, administrative support responsibilities, human relations and interpersonal communication skills, storing and distributing information, telephone communication, ethical behavior and job search. Offered spring semester. Meets business elective requirement for business students.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Teacher-directed instruction using the touch-typing method for keyboarding at computer terminals. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, speed, proofreading and production typing. Students are required to practice one additional hour weekly as directed by the instructor.

    (Cross-listed with MGT107] 3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: CSPIOI, OFT/MGT III or OFT 112 Required course for OFT students and an elective for business students. Students will learn the concepts, methodologies, and terminology related to managing projects and then will apply that knowledge in using MS Project. Topics include planning a project, creating project schedules, communicating project information, assuring resources, tracking progress, launching the project and reporting results.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: English Placement into ENG101 and ability to keyboard Co-requisite: OFT 112 This course is designed to introduce students to the basics of workplace com munications---writing, listening, reading, and speaking. The topics include planning, organizing, and writing various business documents-including electronic communi cations. A concise review of the contem porary principles of grammar, punctuation, and style will be covered. Understanding diversity and global business communica tions; researching, evaluating, and using Internet information; developing and using visual/graphic aids; and preparation of employment documents and interviewing ski l ls will be explored. Meets business elec tive requirements for business students.

    (Cross-listed with MGTIII) 3 Credits, 3 hours Introduction to spreadsheet and database management software that organizes stores and recalls information, providing easy access and retrieval. Individual use of a PC in a networked environment using the current business spreadsheet and database software. Students will develop an understanding of key spreadsheet and database concepts. Meets business elective requirement for business students.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: OFT 103 or the ability to keyboard 20 wpm Individual operation of a personal computer usi ng the most current version of MS Word, a word processing program in a networked environment. Basic and intermediate levels of learning include keyboarding (inputting), creating documents, correcting and proofreading, storing and retrieving text, using the mouse, understanding menus, toolbars, task panes, executing commands, formatting, copying and moving text, spell check, grammar, thesaurus; and printing (output). Meets business elective requirements for business students.

    3 Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: OFT 112 or permission of the Discipline Coordinator or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Core Certification Individual operation of a personal computer using the most current version of MS Word, a word processing program in a networked environment. Intermediate and advanced applications include merging documents, sorting/selecting data, formatting with special features, adding visual appeal to documents with images, shapes, WordArt and desktop publishing features, formatting with macros and styles, working with shared documents, creating specialized tables and indexes, preparing and protecting forms, sharing data between applications. Meets business elective requirements for business students.
