Field hollers, work songs, the blues, ragtime, swing, bepop and contemporary forms are discussed in the context of regional styles emanating from the major cities New Orleans, Chicago, Kansas City and New York. The innovations of master artists, from Louis Armstrong to Thelonius Monk, are interpreted from historical, sociological and musical perspectives.

Topics include switching, Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) design, configuration and maintenance, Integrated Services Data Networks (ISDN), Point-to-Point (PPP) and Frame Relay configuration, network protocols, advanced router configuration and troubleshooting. Additional topics include Classless versus Classful routing, Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM) calculation and supernetting. This is the second semester of a two-semester course and includes Cisco Systems Networking Academy CCNA Curriculum semesters 3 and 4. The course helps prepare students for Part 2 of the industry recognized Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND 640-811) and the CompTIA Network+ exam, or the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA 640-801) certificate exam.
