(Cross-listed with SCI 210) 3 Credits, 3 Hours This course emphasizes the spatial interaction of the elements in the natural environment such as weather and climate, landforms, vegetation and soils. A major focus will be on the spatial interrelationships of these elements and the overall operation of the earth atmosphere energy system.

4 Credits, 4 Hours The first half of a one-year course in the German language, including an introduction to the Austrian, German and Swiss cultures. In addition to conversational and written German, the course content includes an overview of German grammar. This course is designed for the beginning student, but is also open to those who have had some previous study of German but need the review to raise their competence in the language to the intermediate level.

4 Credits, 4 Hours Prerequisite: GER 101 or 1-2years ofhigi school German This course includes the second half of a one-year course in the German language, including an introduction to the Austrian, German and Swiss culture. In addition to conversational and written German, the course content includes a complete overview of German grammar. In GER 102, the use of Austrian and Bavarian dialects for oral comprehension is covered as well as continued study of German, Austrian and Swiss cultures. This course is designed for the beginning student, but is also open to those who have had some previous study of German and need review to raise their competence in the language to the intermediate level.

Conversational situations such as shopping, traveling, attending school and holiday celebrations are covered as students examine the culture of these areas. This course is designed for intermediate level students and for persons wishing to expand their skills in the language for general purposes, travel or language examinations.
