(Cross-listed with ENG244) 4 Credits, 4 Hours An exploration of major artists and writers of the nineteenth century, whose works provide the roots of Modernism. Romanticism in its various manifestations-including revolutionary art, gothic art, outsider art, and the art of the natural world-will be studied through paintings, architecture, novels, short stories, plays, and poems. Three classroom hours and one hour online assignments and discussion.

2 Credits, 3 Hours An introduction to paint and draw graphics, image scanning and page layout. Students will work in a variety of programs that encompass the basic skills used to create computer-generated graphic design.

3Credits, 3 Hours Prerequisite: ART280, ART283 andART288 An introduction to the methodology used by multi-media designer to solve problems in creating audio video and other visual and web materials. Emphasis is on individual student creativity and the acquisition of professional techniques. Most work is done on computers using he software program Flash!

4 Credits, 4 Hours This is the first semester of a one-year introductory course designed for students who have no prior knowledge of American Sign Language. ASL 101 focuses on ASL grammar, core vocabulary, deaf culture and basic communication/conversational skills. Students will participate in group projects, interactive activities and videotaping. Class will meet for four hours a week for fifteen weeks.

4 Credits, 4 Hours Prerequisite: ASL 101 or permission of the Discipline Coordinator ASL 102 is the second semester of a one-year course. ASL 102 continues to expand a core vocabulary and develop the student's abi lity to use ASL grammar to promote fundamental communication/ conversational skills. The course is designed to develop further awareness and understanding of cultural protocols of deaf culture. Students will participate in independent/group projects, interactive activities and videotaping. Class will meet for four hours a week for fifteen weeks.

4 Credits, 4 Hours Prerequisite: ASL 102 or permission of the instructor Continuation of immediate American Sign Language and deaf culture study, with opportunities to build more receptive and expressive sign vocabulary, sign structure grammar and phrases; use of signing space; social expression and body language; continuation of fingerspel ling and manual number.

4 hours, 4 credits. Corequisite: AUT 111. An introduction to the fundamentals of steering, suspension and chassis systems. Students learn to service these systems and perform alignments. Upon successful completion of the course, students are prepared to take the ASE certification examination in steering and suspension.

4 Credits, 4 Hours Pre or co-reouisite: AUT 111 An introduction to the principles and components of the automotive internal combustion engine. Students learn to diagnose engines for internal problems: they remove, disassemble, inspect and prepare engines for rebuilding. This course meets the requirements of the CAP specific curriculum.

Pre or co-reouisite: AUT 111 Students learn the mechanics and physics of brake systems in their development from early hydraulics to ABS systems. They perform component replacement and repair; hydraulic systems pressure tests, and total overhaul of brake systems including ABS. Successful completion of the course prepares students to take the ASE certification examination for brakes. This course meets the requirements of the CAP specific curriculum.
