Integration of illustration and design. Prerequisite: Advertising Design and Illustration 1102 with a grade of "C" or better, or equivalent or consent of instructor (6 lab hours)

2 credit hours Critical discussion, review and analysis of a selected topic in advertising, design or illustration. Completion of projects appropriate to the selected topic. Topic is specified in the subtitle of the course listed in the Class Schedule. May be taken up to three times for credit as long as a different topic is selected each time. Prerequisite: Any 1100-level Advertising, Design and Illustration course or consent of instructor (1 lecture hour, 2 lab hours)

1 to 4 credit hours Exploration and analysis of topics within the discipline to meet individual student-defined course description, goals, objectives, topical outline and methods of evaluation in coordination with and approved by the instructor. 3 credit hours Study of communication of ideas and information through symbols, images, illustration, and typography in a simulated professional environment. Continuing study of design principles and elements. Advanced color theory and practice in traditional and electronic form. Development of design and illustration projects through a professional process that includes research, conceptualization, image and type generation, layout, presentation, and evaluation. Prerequisite: Advertising Design and Illustration 1105 with a grade of "C" or better, or equivalent or consent of instructor (6 lab hours)

3 credit hours Study of aesthetics of designing for interactivity in nonlinear environments. Introduction to current authoring techniques and technologies to create and develop basic projects in which interactivity is the focus. Development of prototype designs for Web, kiosks, games, portfolios, and DVDs covered. Prerequisites: Advertising Design and Illustration 1105 and 1107 with a grade of "C" or better in each or consent of instructor (6 lab hours)

3 credit hours Study and develop forms of advertising such as broadcast, direct mail, sales promotion, outdoor and collateral. Research and develop layout ads with markers and other commercial media, and study design principles, consumer motivation, advertising and ad format. (1 lecture hour, 4 lab hours)

Emphasis on professional design and illustration processes and presentation skills. Practical application of two and three dimensional design theory. Prerequisite: Advertising Design and Illustration 2201 or equivalent or consent of instructor (6 lab hours)

3 credit hours Students expand their understanding of Web and interactive design concepts and processes through advanced Web design projects. Planning, design and development of informational, editorial and promotional Web sites explored using current authoring tools and techniques. Prerequisite: Advertising, Design and Illustration 2202 with a grade of "C" or better or equivalent or consent of instructor (6 lab hours)
